The Copper Weathervanes
of
John Garret Thew
"Anything
that turns and points into the wind is called a weather vane. This is my
main love, making weather vanes like this."
John Garret Thew - Norfalk CT
John
Garret Thew is an artist, an engineer, and an inventor who, for nearly
50 years, has been creating something magical in full bodied, hand hammered,
copper weathervanes. This has earned him world wid
e
acclaim as one of the premier weathervane artists . John's
weathervanes have a fuller bodied character than most artists can
attempt but it is the balance his vanes achieve that is critically acclaimed
as "the very best in the world". John has been written about and
acknowledged in numerous publications as both an inventor and a "Master"
artist. He lives in Nofolk Connecticut with his wife Eve, who is a very
accomplished artist in her own right. This Goose weathervane pictured on
the right, sits atop the cupola of John and Eve's home but another one
sits atop the home of John Wayne. Please scroll down to see better
pictures, sizes, and prices of the Goose as well as John's other
weathervanes as well as the included mounting post, directionals and trademark
